drafting and the tension in the home

Drafting came to America after the Soviets deciced to expand their military. the Americans had to find a way to catch up and drafting was the solution. America started to draft men from 17 to 45 and this was also the beginning of african americans and women getting jobs after the white men left and not to long after we started to draft african american men from 17 to 45. this evened us out with the soviets but put tension on the home the women was now responible to make the money and take care of the family. after the cold war was over the men returned and the devorice rate went up along with the baby boom.

The Space Race

The Space Race put even more tensions on the space programs of each of the nations. the space race was the race to get the first rocket into space and on October 4, 1957 the soviets won and launched sputnick into space, which put more stress on america and we did not launch a space air craft into space until a few years later. in the end the soviets won in the space race allowing the soviets to have satillites and have an upper hand in the progression of the future and was able to take pictures from space and have more options and have a bigger advantage 0n America.

The Arms Race

The Arms Race between America and the U.S.S.R. increased tensions on the inventors of both nations. During World War II America dropped the atomic bomb on Japan and by the time we were in the cold war the U.S.S.R had created their own verison of the the deadly weapan. This upgrade for the U.S.S.R no longer let America have the upper hand and America had to find another way to defeat the Soviet Union. That was when the containment plan orginated. The tension rose even higher when the Soviets expanded their military and both sides started using the Airlifts to help out their allies. This put pressure on the U.S.A. to some how gain more military and more help from the citizens. This sparked the victory gardens and drafting, America was trying to find anther strategy for the defeating of the U.S.S.R. that was when the containment plan kicked in and we started the move towards containing communism.

how the Cold War affected the world today

The Cold War was one of the most advanced wars and one of the wars that played a major part on how the average persons lives and views things today, but in the poltical world today the Cold War caused the tensions between certain nations today. the modern world has been able to make more advancements that would most likely not have happened until later in the future. Examples of this are satillites in space cell phone towers and connection e-mails, texting, maybe even computers. The cold war has also made it possible to take photographs from space. All of these advancements were possible because of the space race between the U.S.S.R. and America.

U.S.A.'s role in the Cold War

America's role in the Cold War was massive. the U.S.A played a major role in supporting other nations and sending troops over to fight for the allied nation. the U.S.A. was supporting other nations if they agreed to stay nationalist and that was the beginning of the Truman doctrine that was the act of supporting these struggling nations. most of these nations would not exist today if America had not stepped in to help and send troops over to help them fight the war. America was in two races with the Soviets the "Arms race" and the "Space race" even though America got the H-bomb first the Soviets had the first rocket in space. The major role that America played in the Cold War was supporting other nations and the main goal was to contain Communism and that goal was accomplished. thats America's role in the Cold War.

From My Prespective....

The Cold War.... I believe that this war was the war that had the most advancedments between two nations. the Soviet Unoin and the U.S.A. were in two races the "Arms race" and the "Space race". the Arms race was the race to the most advanced weponry, by the time this war would end both nations would have the power to blow up the world.. In the space race the U.S.S.R. and the U.S.A. were in a race to successful launch a rocket in to space...the soviets were the first to succeed with the sputnick launched successfully on October 4, 1957. Shortly after America successfully launched their rocket. In my opinion these two races contributed to the advanced nations today. the Cold War was the War that even is still seen today within controversy. also in my presective this brutally showed America the reality that we could have been bombed at anytime, which also in my opinion brought terriorism to the present day world. the Cold war was one of the biggest effects on the world and its future...

The Tension Increases

The tension between America and the Soviet Union increased. The tensions were increasing because in World War II America dropped the atomic bomb on Japan and by the time we were in the cold war the U.S.S.R had created their own verison of the the deadly weapan. The U.S.A. had to start drafting men into the war. The berlin wall was the cause for the airlifts. This wall was put up by the Soviets to act like a prison for the innocent people trapped inside, the Soviets gaurded this wall constantly, and all that America could do is fly over and drop supplies with in the walls. Truman had to find another way to stop the U.S.S.R from spreading communism, and the containment plan was the plan that was the least voilent way to go about doing this. Also the "Space race" and the "Arms race" had raised the tensions to the brink.
